The following provides information required under Public Law, 34 CFR Part 668, Student Assistance General Provisions, and Campus Safety.
REPORTING PROCEDURES
Should you need to report criminal actions or other emergencies occurring on campus please report this directly to JIM BUTENSCHOEN, Director of CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN. If JIM BUTENSCHOEN is not available, please report to the instructor in charge. These officials will notify the local law enforcement agency or emergency medical technicians depending on the seriousness of the incident. CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN does not recognize any off-campus student organizations that would be covered by this act.
The purpose and authority of CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN staff is limited to the enforcement of campus rules and regulations. Incidents that go beyond this scope are referred to and investigated by the Rogers police department.
To ensure accurate and prompt reporting of all crimes, CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN will take full written statements from involved parties and witnesses on all emergency or criminal incidents. The written statements are included as CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN staff and Local/State law enforcement authorities for the purpose of apprehension and/or crime prevention may use part of the written report, and such statements.
The institution strictly prohibits the possession, use and sale of illegal drugs and strictly enforces Federal and State drug laws. The institution has a drug abuse program in effect, as required under sections 1213 of the HEA. For additional information on the institution's drug program please review the Drug-Free Work Place Statement provided to each student at enrollment.
SCHOOL ACCESS
The only people allowed in the school are CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN staff, students and patrons. CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN reserves the right to ask any visitor, student, staff or patron to leave the facility following any disruptive behavior.
The institution opens its doors at 8:00a.m. Tuesday –Saturday. The doors are locked at 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Saturday. Students and staff are advised to leave the building in a group and to be aware of the surroundings.
Once a year, CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN has the Rogers City Police or a local Citizens Against Crime group come to the institution and talk to students about crime prevention; how to prevent sex offenses, and the procedure to follow when sex offenses occurs along with other safety related issues.
Students and staff receive this Campus Report at Orientation and are advised that they are responsible for their own security and the security of students and staff during school hours.
SEXUAL OFFENSES
As mentioned under CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN, the intuition has a local support group discuss and promote the awareness of rape, acquaintance rape, and other forcible and non-forcible sex offenses.

For Staff and Students
Students are to follow the procedures detailed below if a sex offense occurs:
1. Notify JIM BUTENSCHOEN, Director of CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN and the proper law enforcement authorities (Rogers Police Department). If requested, the institution will notify the Rogers Police Department. It is very important that the victim preserve evidence for the proof of a criminal offense,
2. Although CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN has no on-campus housing we will assist you, is requested, in finding other living situations after an alleged sex offense. We may assist you in changing your academic program if necessary.
3. The institution does not have any on-campus counseling centers but the center that victims of sexual offenses may contact for assistances located at:

Please be advised that the intuition does not have any institutional proceedings. All sexual offenses are reported to the local authorities. If the accused is convicted, the institution will, based upon the crime, suspended the student; require counseling and/or terminate the student from the intuition.

Hate crimes are describes as ones that manifest evidence of prejudice based on race, religion, sexual orientation or ethnicity, as prescribed by the Hate Crimes Statistics Act (28 U.S.C. 534).

In an effort to prevent unlawful use or distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees, CAREER ACADEMY OF HAIR DESIGN adopted and implemented the Drug Prevention programs required by “the Drug Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989, Public Law 101-226.” The following program is in compliance with Federal Register/ Vol. 55, No. 79 dated April 24, 1990 and Federal Register/ Vol. 55, No. 159, dated August 16, 1990.
STANDARDS OF CONDUCT: The Rules and Regulations of the academy clearly prohibit the use of or distribution of any intoxicating drugs while on the school premises.
APPLICABLE LEGAL SANCTIONS: Legal sanctions (city/state/federal) may result in fine and/or imprisonment up to life. Appendix “A” shows a breakdown of possible Federal trafficking penalties. The U. S. Department of Justice/Drug Enforcement Administration issued the chart.
HEALTH RISKS: The illicit use of drugs and prolonged use of alcohol causes and inevitable deterioration of both the physical body and the mental. Symptoms may range from nausea, anxiety or mental disorientation to possible convulsions and even death.

DISCIPLINARY ACTION: If a student should violate this regulation he/she will be terminated from classes and the violation or violations will be referred to the City Police Department. Severity of the offense and any action needed will be determined by and enforced by the Police Department.
Reinstatement after termination resulting from violation of this regulation will require demonstration that all violations have been corrected. The school will work closely with the Police Department and any state approved counseling or rehabilitation agency. The school will follow the professional judgment of the organization involved.
Any employee in violation of this regulation will be permanently terminated. The violation or violations will be referred to the City Police Department for whatever action they deem applicable.

This information is reviewed biennial to determine the effectiveness of Career Academy of Hair Design Drug Prevention Program. Our procedures seem appropriate, as no increase in our statistics has occurred.
